Quinn for Illinois Online

Today, My Fox Illinois had an interesting piece about New Media in the 2010 Gubernatorial Primary election.  Since the Obama campaign nearly perfected online campaigning in 2008, Netroots activity has become an essential part of any legitimate political operation.  Online activism helps candidates reach as many voters as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Right now, Governor Quinn is working hard to talk to as many voters possible, but he can’t be everywhere at once.

Enter our new media team.

We work hard every day to keep our supporters up to date on Governor Quinn’s announcements, interesting campaign news stories, and volunteer opportunities with Quinn for Illinois.

Simon Edelman, our outstanding cinematographer, loads new videos and ads on YouTube daily. Photos from the Governor’s events are uploaded onto Flickr.

Our team is doing a fantastic job and people are taking notice. My Fox Illinois noted our campaign’s skillful use of the web, praising our presence on “on several new media and social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.”
