QUINN CAMPAIGN CELEBRATES BANNER WEEK WITH NEW REFORM VIDEO
CHICAGO – Celebrating Governor Pat Quinn’s signing of an historic campaign finance reform bill – in a week also highlighted by a wide range of high-profile endorsements – Quinn for Illinois on Friday released a new campaign video, “A Year of Reform.”
The video is available at Governor Quinn’s campaign website, QuinnForIllinois.com, at http://www.quinnforillinois.com/content/year-reform. It includes highlights from a number of Governor Quinn’s actions to reform state government, including the creation of the Transparency and Accountability Portal, the signing of the newly strengthened Freedom of Information Act, and legislative passage of the Recall Amendment, all the way up to Wednesday’s signing of the Campaign Finance Reform Bill.
Governor Quinn’s action on the Campaign Finance Reform Bill and his commitment to government reform throughout his 10 months in office has won accolades and support from reform advocates statewide.
The bill signing capped a week that also brought endorsements of Governor Quinn from a wide range of supporters.
On Saturday, Progressive Action Project, the state PAC of Citizen Action/Illinois, endorsed Governor Quinn, citing his lifelong record of progressive leadership.
“Pat Quinn has decades of credentials which make him by far the best leader that consumer advocates could hope for in a Governor,” said Lynda DeLaforgue, Co-Director of Citizen Action/Illinois. “He has proven to be an advocate for the people time and time again. Whether fighting for fair utility rates, quality affordable healthcare, campaign finance reform, or an end to predatory lending, Citizen Action knows we can always count on Governor Quinn. We endorse his candidacy with the knowledge that he will lead Illinois in the right direction.”
The Illinois Chapter of the Sierra Club also formally endorsed Governor Quinn, citing his years of standing up for the environment of Illinois against greed, corruption and neglect.

Praising Governor Pat Quinn’s many years of fighting for the everyday people of Illinois, the Westside Black Elected Officials – including U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis – on Monday announced their endorsement of Governor Quinn.
Chicago Ald. Emma Mitts, the host of the event, said she supports Governor Quinn because she believes it is time for unity, in the Democratic Party and throughout the state of Illinois. “We’ve had enough of the divisions that have separated us for so long and hindered us from the service we want to provide for our community,” Mitts said. “That’s why we are here.”
Citing Governor Pat Quinn’s consistent record of standing up for the right of all Illinois women to make their own choices, Planned Parenthood Illinois Action Thursday announced its endorsement of Governor Quinn in the Democratic primary.
“Planned Parenthood Illinois Action is pleased to support Governor Quinn, who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to women’s reproductive health issues,” said Steve Trombley, President and CEO of PPIA. “We stand behind candidates who stand up for the women and families of Illinois.”
