With a little over one week to go before Election Day, we were thinking about how much can be accomplished in a week.
Last week, Dan Hynes debuted a series of nasty negative ads.
Governor Quinn was working hard for you.
He announced $3.5 million in capital funding for Erie Elementary Capital Charter School. This money will allow the school to expand to add students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
He signed a bill into law that creates the “Gateways to Opportunity” program, which provides credentials for exceptional teachers.
He extended Keystone Steel & Wire’s utility tax exemption, which will save hundreds of manufacturing jobs.
He announced new appointments to the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission. These appointments helped revitalize a commission ignored by earlier administrations.
Finally, this morning, Governor Quinn awarded a $14.8 million grant to University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. These funds will be used for an addition to the college’s National Center for Rural Health Professions. The project will create 104 new construction jobs.
People all over the state are hurting, and we're working every day to reach out to them. Governor Quinn is saving and creating jobs, providing better educational opportunities for our children, and bringing honesty to Illinois government.
